About Fructuous Consulting
We chose the name Fructuous deliberately.
Fructuous means bearing fruit — producing results that are tangible, meaningful, and lasting. It speaks to productivity, but not in a transactional sense. It reflects growth, sustainability, and outcomes that endure beyond a single intervention or funding cycle.
At Fructuous Consulting, we believe that development work should bear fruit — not only in outputs or reports, but in strengthened systems, changed practices, informed decision-making, and improved lives. Our role is not simply to measure activity. It is to help organisations understand whether their work is generating real change, how that change is unfolding, and how it can be sustained.
We approach our work with this long-term lens. We focus on outcome and impact orientation, ensuring that interventions are rooted in clear theory, responsive to context, and capable of producing lasting social and economic transformation.
For us, being fructuous means contributing to work that continues to produce value — well beyond the lifespan of a project.
About The Founder
Miriam Chikwanda
I created Fructuous Consulting after witnessing the challenges individual consultants often face when it comes to accessing collaborative spaces for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
My journey into program evaluation began with a deep-rooted interest in seeing developmental interventions thrive and truly make a meaningful difference for the communities they target.
As a generalist evaluator, I work across various sectors, including education, child development and protection, developmental capacity building, women and youth empowerment, social justice, public health, advocacy for policy change and civil society empowerment.
My passion for social development has taken me across Africa, partnering with NGOs, government bodies, and international organizations to design and evaluate impactful programs. I believe that keeping community voices at the heart of our work is essential to achieving sustainable, long-lasting change.
For me Fructuous Consulting is more than an MEL consultancy—it’s a collaborative network of expert evaluators and applied researchers dedicated to supporting organizations in achieving their goals. Together, we work to build resilient, data-driven M&E systems that empower our clients to drive meaningful and sustainable development.
My Values: Growth | Innovation | Empowerment | Inclusivity
Let’s connect to explore how we can make a lasting impact, together.
